Bio
Ben was born on August 25th, 1989 on Beal Air Force Base in California. He spent the next ten years living in a the small Northern California town of Auburn. When he was eleven, his parents were transferred to Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. After four years, he moved to Niceville, Florida. After yet another four years he lived in Washington D.C. Currently, he resides in Savannah, GA.
Ben's interest in filmmaking came to him when he was only seven years old when his older sister let him watch Michael Bay's 1997 action epic, THE ROCK. From that point on he was hooked. Other than being a movie buff, he never took steps to becoming a filmmaker until he lived in Europe making home made skateboarding videos. In Europe, while in middle school, he took "T.V Production" where he first learned about editing (on a linear editing system) and the basic fundamentals of making a video. This interest carried with him on into high school where he took a "Media Production" class and started to think of filmmaking as something more than just something to do with friends.
While in his junior year of high school he traveled to New York City and participated in the New York Film Academy's (NYFA) three week intensive filmmaking course. While there he learned all the steps that it takes to create a short film. His first short film, A BROKEN PROMISE, received critical acclaim from instructors and peers as well as a standing ovation during it's premiere. Hot on the heals of NYFA, Ben realized that he had found something he wanted to do with his life. Make movies.
When he moved to Washington D.C he decided to take part in an intensive nine month program at Center for Digital Imaging Arts (a Boston University sister school). Under the supervision of professionals, he made several films ranging from short form documentaries to music videos to short films. He quickly excelled to the head of his class in terms of knowledge and skill. He graduated in 2009 with a degree in digital filmmaking.
Currently, he is in Savannah, GA attending Savannah College of Art and Design, majoring in film with an interest in both directing and cinematography.
